On June 14 , 2022 , an official visit of the delegation to the Balkan region led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan took place .

At the end of his official visit to the Balkan region, Ambassador Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales made a trip to the Turkmenbashi International Seaport to get acquainted with the work of the port, loading and unloading of ships, reception and handling of ships.

During the visit, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan noted the importance of transport, food industry, export-import relations in the transport sector between the two countries, noting that all necessary steps will be taken for further develop relations between the ports of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan.

After familiarizing himself with the port’s capabilities, the Ambassador expressed gratitude for the acquaintance with the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, and offered to establish closer ties with the ports of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as to familiarize himself with the capabilities of Iran’s ports.

 Ambassador Gholam Abbas Arbab Hales thanked the port officials for the warm welcome and assured them that he would take the necessary steps to further strengthen relations at the state level in the future.
