TURKMENBASHI INTERNATIONAL SEAPORT
POLICY IN THE FIELD OF QUALITY, ECOLOGY, HEALTH PROTECTION
The port was founded in October 1896 on the eastern shore of the Caspian Sea. According to the decree of the President of Turkmenistan, signed on May 19, 2014, the construction of the Turkmenbashy International Sea Port (hereinafter referred to as TISP or Port) was launched and was put into operation on May 2, 2018. TISP was designed and built in accordance with the international standard “Green Port” and is the only one of its kind within the entire Caspian region. The port provides high-quality services for loading and unloading, as well as storage of goods and is a “sea gate” connecting Central Asia and Europe by sea, road and rail, which in turn serves as the largest transit hub in the region.
The mission of the port – is to create conditions for the successful development of the country, as well as to meet the interests of the main stakeholders. To provide confidence to every consumer that the Port is constantly striving to use the best methods and methods to ensure the quality of port operations, carried out in safe conditions, with minimal impact on the environment.
The strategic goal of the Port – is to develop and promote the Port as the main hub port connecting Central Asia and Europe, promoting and protecting the strategic maritime interests of our state, as a result, increase the volume of loading and unloading operations to design capacity.
In its vision, the TISP strives to be an enterprising and innovative enterprise using the latest and leading technologies, to win and maintain a leading position in servicing export and transit cargo flows in the Caspian region.
To comply with the above, the TISP has implemented an integrated management system in accordance with the requirements of international standards ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, the scope of which is “Loading and unloading operations, storage of materials, marine agency services, general port services”.
Based on the foregoing, the TISP management assumes the following obligations:
– is obliged to çomply with the reäuirements of internatiolal and loçal laws and regulations in the field of quality, environmental protection and health and safety (OH&S), as well as other requirements applicable to the activities of the Port;
– to analyze and constantly improve the current integrated management system, including environmental management to improve environmental performance;
– to constantly implement measures to protect the environment and prevent pollution, including the coastal zone of the Caspian Sea, including strict adherence to the principle of “zero discharge” and minimizing the impact on the atmospheric air of the working area and adjacent areas;
– provide a safe and healthy working environment to prevent injury and ill health;
– to implement risk and hazard management mechanisms at the appropriate levels, eliminate hazards and reduce risks in the field of health and safety in all areas of the organization’s activities;
– to create a favorable working environment and mechanisms for the active participation of workers in consultations on health and safety issues at all levels;
– to plan and allocate the resources necessary to achieve the goals of the IMS;
– to constantly improve the professional level and knowledge of employees in the field of quality, OH&S and environmental management, through periodic training;
– periodically provide information on the results of environmental activities to all interested parties by publishing on the organization’s website;
– to fulfill the above obligations.
The management of the Turkmenbashy International Sea Port is responsible for the implementation of this Policy and undertakes to convey it to all employees of the Port and other interested parties.
