The Turkmenbashi International Seaport, located on the eastern coast of the Caspian Sea, is not merely a transport facility but a central link in the architecture of Eurasian logistics. Serving as the “Maritime Gateway to Central Asia,” the port provides the shortest trade route between East and West, integrating sea, road, and rail transport into a single high-tech hub.

Turkmenbashi Port was designed and built in strict accordance with the international “Green Port” standards. Currently, it is the only harbor of its kind in the entire Caspian region, highlighting Turkmenistan’s commitment to sustainable development principles. Its modern infrastructure provides world-class services for the transshipment, storage, and processing of all types of cargo.

Thanks to the active efforts of the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan (TULM), the port is being integrated into new global routes:

• China — Europe: A test container train from Zhejiang (PRC) was successfully launched via Turkmenistan to the Port of Baku.
• China — Kyrgyzstan — Uzbekistan — Turkmenistan Multimodal Corridor: This new route, launched in October, allows cargo from Kashgar to be delivered to Turkmenbashi Port via combined transport, providing access to Azerbaijan and onward to Europe.
• Turkey — Turkmenistan — Kyrgyzstan Route: Another successfully implemented service, confirming Turkmenistan’s status as a transit bridge.

The effectiveness of this strategy is confirmed by concrete figures. Transit traffic through Turkmenbashi Port shows a steady positive trend: a growth in transit volume within a single year demonstrates the increasing confidence of international carriers in the port’s infrastructure and the efficiency of multimodal routes passing through Turkmenistan.

The Turkmenbashi International Seaport continues to strengthen its position as the largest transit hub in the region. International partnerships make it an indispensable link in global supply chains, contributing to the economic prosperity not only of Turkmenistan, but also of the entire Central Asia.
